Mrs. Sarah Davis Moss, age 80 of Bolivar, departed this life Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Moss was born in Hickory Valley February 26, 1931 to the late Jerry Lavert and Mary Blanch Farris Davis. Her husband, Luther Ray Moss, preceded her in death January 8, 1990 after 37 years of marriage. She lived all of her life in the Hardeman County area and worked as a clerk in the Trustee's Office for over 30 years. She also worked as a homemaker and in the ASC office for about 14 years. Mrs. Moss was a member of Parran's Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar, where she served as Church Secretary, taught Sunday School and VBS classes, worked in the nursery and sang in the choir. She was also involved in the Women's Missionary Union.
Mrs. Moss leaves as her survivors a daughter, Mary Gwen Foust and husband Charles of Ft. Worth, TX; a son, Timothy Ray Moss and wife Karen of Bolivar; a sister, JoAnn Hammons of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Anthony Scott Vincent of Dallas, TX, Curt Moss of Bolivar, Susan Ginn Howell of Hornsby and Sarah Ginn Simer of Nashville; and one great-grandchild, Emma Brook Howell of Hornsby.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Davis and Virginia Keller; and two brothers, Lavert Davis, Jr. and Edward Davis.
