Sarah E. (Hayes) Johnson
was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on May 18, 1926 the daughter of the late Joel Jackson (Jack) and Mary Leslie Bradley Hayes.
On February 5, 1944 she was united in marriage to E.W. Johnson, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1986. Mrs. Johnson worked as a waitress and as a restaurant owner/operator. As a military wife, she lived in Kentucky, California, West Germany, Washington, Tennessee and numerous other places. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
She departed this life on September 17, 2006 in Port Orchard, Washington at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 30 days.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by 2 daughters: Glenda J. (Joyce) Ayers of Burke, Virginia and Deborah S. Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee; 5 sons: Jerry W. Johnson of Lacey, Washington, Donald L. Johnson of Adamsville, Tennessee, Joel D. (Dave) Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee, John M. (Mike) Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee and Phillip A. (Tony) Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Walter Hayes of Crown Point, Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Edward W. Johnson; one sister, Beulah Martin and 3 brothers: Leo, Bill and Chester Hayes.
