Sandra F. Mayfield, 57, of Bolivar, died Saturday morning, June 11, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The wife of Jerry Mayfield, Sr., who survives, she was an LPN at WMHI for 35 years. Mrs. Mayfield was born October 26, 1947 in Jackson, Tenn., the daughter of Gladys Weaver Simpson, of Bemis, and the late James L. Simpson, Sr. She lived most her life in the Madison and Hardeman County areas, graduating from Southside High School in Jackson, and was affiliated with the Bemis Church of Christ.
Services were 4 PM Monday, June 13, 2005 at Shackelford's Chapel in Bolivar with David Cooper officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery near Toone.
In addition to her husband, whom she married June 16, 1968, and her mother, she is survived by three sons, Jerry Mayfield, Jr. of Bolivar, Robert Mayfield of Bells and Christopher Mayfield of Pensacola, FL.; two brothers, James L. Simpson, Jr. of Saltillo, MS and Allen Simpson of Bartlett; two sisters, Clara Bennett of Pontotoc, MS and Peggy Fish of Bemis and fo randchildren, Bradley Mayfield of Bolivar and Bryan, Loni and Allie Mayfield, all of Pensacola, FL. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Simpson.
