Samuel Lee Hudspeth, Sr.
was born in Ashland City, Tennessee on May 8, 1917 the son of the late Archie and Bessie Penual Hudspeth.
On September 9, 1939 he was united in marriage to the former Gladys Roland. Mr. Hudspeth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. During his life he had lived in Nashville for many years and worked as an electrician for the TVA for 43 years. He was also a member of First Baptist Church.
He departed this life on July 15, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Mr. Hudspeth is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Roland Hudspeth of Savannah;
a son, Samuel Lee Hudspeth, Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Lebanon, Tennessee;
a daughter, Sharon O’Neal and husband, Tommy, of Savannah;
4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
and one sister, Frances Porter and husband, John, of Gallatin, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Hoover.
