Samuel Andrew Cooper

March 20, 1936 — October 30, 2010

Mr. Cooper passed away Saturday morning, October 30 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



A native of Pigeon Forge, Mr. Cooper grew up in Gatlinburg, the son of the late William Carl Cooper and Zella Davenport Cooper. He lived there until 1968, when he married Susie E. Underwood on July 19 of that year. Mrs. Cooper passed away February 15, 2001. Mr. Cooper worked as an electrical contractor for Kelley Electric Company and had lived in Naples, Florida for eight years, in Knoxville for 10 years and also in Henderson for several years. Mr. Cooper had lived in Bolivar for the past six years. A member of the Bolivar Church of Christ, he enjoyed photography, music and taking care of his grandsons, Cooper and Keaton.



He leaves two daughters, Andrea Cooper Henson and her husband, Eddie, of Bolivar; and Cathy Fulgham and her husband, Joel, of Montgomery, Illinois; his son, Carson Cooper and his wife, Pam, of Clearwater, Florida; step-children, Terry Smelcher of Lewisville, Sherry Brummitt of Clinton and Michael Smelcher of Chattanooga; his sister, Jane Crawford of Ellenton, Florida and nine grandchildren, Mica and Vaughan Fulgham; Sean, Erin and Megan Cooper; and Jonathan, Cooper, Keaton and Nickolas Henson.



In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a grandson, Cayden Henson.
