Sammie Pinson

Sammie Pinsonwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 11, 1933 the son of the late Frank Eldridge and Etta Tanner Pinson.On June 13, 1960 he was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Barnett, who survives.Mr. Pinson had worked for Vulcan Materials for 8 years and retired from Alter Barge Line where he was a Chief Engineer. In addition to Hardin County, he had also lived in Parsons and Counce, Tennessee. He enjoyed reading the Bible, yard work, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mr. Pinson departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the age of 75 years, 8 months, 24 days.In addition to his wife, Mr. Pinson is survived by 2 daughters, Janet Waters and Cathy Creasy both of Savannah, Tennessee; a son, Tony Scott of Sparta, Tennessee; 2 sisters, Bessie Austin and Francis Hill both of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 brothers, James Pinson and Joe Pinson both of Savannah, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Casey Pinson, Talon Creasy, Samantha Meek, and Jessica Creasy; 3 great-grandchildren, Caley Pinson, Macy Meek, and Jaden Lard.In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinson was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Lisa Waters and Sherry Smith; a son, Michael Scott; 2 sisters, Catherine Paulk and Carrie Hughes; a grandchild, Cameron Waters.
