Sam Q. Hanna was born in Saltillo, Tennessee on June 5, 1936 the son of the late S.Q. and Fannie Mae Dickson Hanna. Mr. Hanna was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany from 1958 until 1960. On July 27, 1963 he was united in marriage to the former Mary Yvonne Ellis, who survives. Mr. Hanna was the owner of the Fred's franchise in Savannah, Tennessee until his retirement in 2000 after 27 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Savannah and also a member of the Center Lodge Masons in Bath Springs, Tennessee. Mr. Hanna was a member of the Hardin County General Hospital Board from 1992 until 2001 and was also a Savannah City Commissioner from 1997 until 2001.He departed this life on June 5, 2007 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 71 years.Mr. Hanna is survived by his wife, Yvonne Ellis Hanna of Savannah, Tennessee; two sons: Quinton Hanna of Savannah and John Hanna and his wife, Ginger, of Savannah;one daughter: Mary Beth Gibb and her husband, Robin, of Farnborough, England and one grandson, Alistair Samuel Gibb of Farnborough, England.
