Sam Brown
was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on June 1, 1940 the son of the late Willie James and Alice Irene Morgan Brown.
On June 24, 1985, he was united in marriage to Mattie Sue Franks, who preceded him in death on December 10, 2006.
In addition to Wayne County, Tennessee, Mr. Brown had lived in Houston community, Olive Hill and Savannah, Tennessee. He had worked for Roach Sawmill for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing and was of Baptist belief.
Mr. Brown departed this life on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the age of 68 years, 7 months, 10 days.
Mr. Brown is survived by 2 sons, Bobby Franks of Olive Hill, Tennessee and Billy Franks of Shiloh, Tennessee; a brother, William James (W.J.) Brown of Waynesboro, Tennessee; 6 sisters, Mary Ruth Davis of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Eddie Crews of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Edna Daniel of Iron City, Tennessee, Edith Bratcher of Collinwood, Tennessee, Jonnie Davis, and Rebecca Brown both of Olive Hill, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren, Johnathan Franks, Amanda Franks, Tiffany Franks, Tara Bright, Chris Ehrett, and Angie Borden; a great-grandchild, Ethan Bright; special nephews, James Baker, Charlie Baker, and Jeremy Surgener all of Savannah, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Paul Brown, Perry Brown, Jerry Brown, and Brock Brown.
