SALLY WOOD

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 18, 1929 the daughter of the late George Daniel and Alice Collier Barnett.

On October 22, 1948 she was united in marriage to Venson (Ben) Wood, who preceded his wife in death on March 31, 1998.

Sally had been a machine operator for Brown Shoe Company. She was a life long member of Pyburn Union Church, where she played the piano, served as church secretary, and was a Sunday School teacher. Sally loved her church, and enjoyed studying and preparing to teach her Sunday School class. Sally was an excellent cook, enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful pieces. She loved sharing her favorite flower, the iris, with her family and friends. All the kids in the community would call her "Aunt Sally", and when she was able Sally loved walking to the creek with them.

Sally departed this life on January 9, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 22 days.

She is survived by close family, Dennis and Linda Wood of Savannah, Tennessee, Jason and Amy Wood of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Justin and Lacy Wood of Savannah, Tennessee, Ralph and Shirlene Collier of Walnut, Mississippi, Maggie Wood and Alice Wood, both of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Braxton and Leah Wood, both of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by a brother, John Sherman Barnett.
