SALLIE CECILE HUNTER PRENTIS



was born in Putnam County, Tennessee on November 4, 1911 the daughter of the late Jonah F. and Mollie Walker Hunter.



On May 4, 1934 she was united in marriage to Fred Ray Prentis, who preceded his wife in death on January 11, 1978.



Mrs. Prentis was a homemaker. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in Hermitage, Tennessee where she was president. Mrs. Prentis was a member of the Hardin County Senior Citizens and the East View Senior Citizens. She attended Ramer Baptist Church, Gravel Hill Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee. Mrs. Pentis enjoyed quilting and crafts of all types.



She departed this life on December 13, 2007 at the Harbert Hills Nursing Home at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 9 days.



Mrs. Prentis is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly Sue Prentis Watkins of Florence, Alabama and Catherine Prentis of Franklin, Tennessee.



2 sons, Jim Prentis of Wichita Falls, Texas and Joe Prentis of Counce, Tennessee



one step-son, Fred Prentice of Heber Springs, Arkansas



9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren



one sister, Alma Nelson of Dayton, Ohio



2 brothers, R. C. Hunter of Dayton, Ohio and Herbert Hunter of Montana



Mrs. Prentis was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Aljean Prentice Luettig Accardin, 5 brothers, Will Henry Hunter, Bailey Oliver Hunter, Charlie Clinton Hunter, Millard Hunter and Horace Hunter and 3 sisters, Daisy Dimple Dalrymple, Opal Odell Moore and Wilma Jean Hogue
