Sadie Mitchell Mullen

Sadie Mitchell Mullen was born January 18, 1904 in Selmer, Tennessee the daughter of the late Peter Thomas and Susie Evans Henson.She was united in marriage to Earnest Mitchell on January 19, 1921. Mr. Mitchell preceded her in death on July 2, 1962. On February 5, 1963, she was united in marriage to Luke Mullen, who preceded her in death on January 18, 1986. Mrs. Mullen was a homemaker, and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, where she was baptized in 1921. She was also a member of the Selmer Home Demonstration Club.Mrs. Mullen departed this life on January 28, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 104 Years, 10 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Jeannetta Riley of Scotts Hill, TN; three sons: Fred Mitchell and wife Peggy of Bethel Springs, TN, Ernest R. Mitchell and wife Carolyn of Collierville, TN and Virgil Mitchell and wife Minnie of Henderson, KY; 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and 2 Step Grandchildren.In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Mullen was preceded in death by two sons, infant Lloyd Thomas Mitchell and Edward Mitchell; three brothers: Leonard Henson, Payne Henson and Hollis Henson; and two sisters, Helen Davis and Lessie Murray.
