Ruth Tidwell Kirk,

Finger: Lela Ruth Huff Tidwell Kirk, age 78, died Friday morning October 21, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital.

Mrs. Kirk was born and reared in McCombs, IL, the daughter of the late Omer and Maudie Price Huff. She went to school at East Peoria and married Jessie James Tidwell in 1956. They made their home in Illinois where Mr. Tidwell worked for Caterpillar. They moved to Finger in 1980. Mr. Tidwell died in 1990. She married Cecil Ted Kirk in 1991 and they continued to make their home at Finger. Mr. Kirk died in 2002.

Mrs. Kirk attended and enjoyed the Senior Citizens at Adamsville. She liked to play cards and enjoyed fishing.

She is survived by three daughters; Linda Mooney of Finger, Jerri Montague of Huron, and Juanita Walker of Paris, and three sons; Jessie Tidwell, Jr. of Scotts Hill, John Tidwell of Selmer and Jason Tidwell of Selmer. She was preceded by a daughter, Lethia Carter in 2002. She has 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brother; Audie Lee Huff, Charles Huff, and Junior Huff and two sisters; Stella Huff and Effie Woods.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with burial to follow at Old Union Cemetery near Morris Chapel, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 pm until 8:00 PM Monday.
