Ruth Cunningham

RUTH CUNNINGHAM



was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on August 13, 1918 the daughter of the late Hugh and Reamer Nickels Marler.



On December 23, 1939 she was united in marriage to William Rufus Cunningham who preceded his wife in death June 29, 2001.



Mrs. Cunningham was owner and operator with her husband of Pickwick Motel and Restaurant. She also was a school teacher for Acton School in Acton, Tennessee. Mrs. Cunningham was a very crafty person, she enjoyed stained glass, sewing and woodworking. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee. Mrs. Cunningham lived in Hardin County and McNairy County areas.



She departed this life on January 8, 2011 at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 26 days.



Mrs. Cunningham is survived by one son, Dwayne Cunningham of Savannah, Tennessee and one daughter, Patricia Pettigrew of Pickwick Dam, Tennessee.



3 grandchildren, Keith Wayne Cunningham, Dawana Dupree and Tracy Bond



5 great grandchildren



one sister, Rachel Moore of Selmer, Tennessee



In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Kirk Allen Cunningham and Kris Pettigrew, 2 sisters, Irene Asbell and Imogene Taylor and one brother, John H. Marler.
