Ruth Mae Barnes died July 13, 2005. Mrs. Barnes was born September 18, 1908 in McNairy County, the youngest child of F.A. (Captain) and Tennessee Prather Jones of the Jones Bottom community where she spent her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Lee, Burton, Wilford, Thomas and Bryan Jones and two sisters, Bonnie Jones and Clarice Hamm.

She is survived by her husband of 80 years, Finis Buford Barnes, daughter Doris Barnes Dickinson of Florence, South Carolina, son William W. Barnes of Huntsville, Alabama, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
