Ruby Marie Taylor

Ruby Marie Kiddy Taylor was born May 3, 1925 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late James Robert and Reeda Jane Moore Kiddy.
She was united in marriage to Paul Taylor on April 5, 1947. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on May 11, 1959.
Mrs. Taylor was a life long resident of Selmer, TN although she lived in Ripley, TN for the last several years. She was a homemaker, former employee of McNairy County Schools and Henco. While living in Selmer, she was an active member of the New Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian church. She taught Sunday school, worked with youth of all ages and was active in the Missionary Society. She loved her church and used many of her weekends cleaning the church, cutting the grass and tending the grounds.
She devoted her entire life to her family, always putting them first in her life. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising her three children to be successful adults after the sudden death of her husband, Paul, at such a young age. She was never a negative person, always finding the bright and positive side of every situation. She overcame every obstacle in her path (and she had many) and inspired those around her with her positive attitude, quick laugh and genuine concern for their well-being.
She had a tender, loving heart and her generosity was not limited to her family. She was very active in her community, public schools, civic groups, and various charities. She loved good food and was known as an outstanding cook. Many friends and family have enjoyed her meals, especially her home-made rolls which she was known for. An accomplished seamtress, avid reader, scrapbooker, she spent many hours enjoying her books, magazines and newspapers. Her family and future generations will treasure the diaries and journals she loved to keep.
Mrs. Taylor departed this life on October 19, 2010 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 4 Months, 19 Days. She is survived by daughter, Kate Taylor Grammer (Warren Lee) of Ripley, TN; two sons, James Taylor of Jackson, TN and Jeff Taylor (Kathye) of Memphis, TN; two grandsons, Ed Grammer (Jaime) of Jackson, TN and Grant Taylor of Memphis, TN; two brothers, J.R. Kiddy of Lawton, TN and Henry Kiddy of Jackson, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Miller; two brothers, Albert Kiddy and John Kiddy.
