Ruby Claudene Smith

Ruby Claudene Smith of Middleton, TN departed this life on June 15, 2019 in Corinth, MS at the age of 78 Years, 3 Months, 2 Days. She was born on March 13, 1941 in Walnut, MS the daughter of the late Claude Dewey Smith and Isabelle Barber Smith.

Miss Smith enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and caring for her dogs. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by six daughters, Laverne Vandiver of Memphis, TN, Faye Kirby and husband Randall of Middleton, TN, Wanda Bryant and husband Richard of Ashland, MS, Christie Hopkins of Ashland, MS, Janice Fortner and husband Charlie of Ashland, MS, Pat Hoch of Memphis, TN; four sons, Jerry Smith of Bethel Springs, TN, Freddie Hopkins and wife Kasey of Walnut, MS, Dwayne Hopkins and wife Teresa of Ripley, MS, Glenn Hopkins and wife Lori of Chalybeate, MS; a host of grandchildren and great -grandchildren; a sister, Kathylene Pannell of Walnut, MS; a brother, W. C. Smith and wife Bilie of Walnut, MS; a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Miss Smith was preceded in death by her life partner, Travis "Pop" Hopkins.
