Ruby N. Petty

Mrs. Petty passed away Thursday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.The widow of Alfred C. Petty, who died on December 28, 2007, she was a homemaker who loved to cook and do for others. She was born to Robert L. and Lillie Canerdy Smith, both of whom preceded her in death and lived in various places prior to moving to Middleton in 1964. She worked at the Blytheville, Arkansas Airforce Base during World War II and also was a poll worker during elections here in the county. Mrs. Petty was a member of Porters Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda and Lester Bell of Middleton; a sister, Carolyn Lanier of Middleton; three grandchildren, Sharon Bishop, Justin Petty and Melissa Russell; and three great grandchildren, Jay and Ben Bishop and Kindle Russell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Petty, a grandson, Mike Bell and a brother, Harold Smith.
