RUBY F. MITCHELL
Was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi on May 22, 1913 the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson (Jack) and Addie Turner Petigo.
On March 18, 1937 she was united in marriage to Johnnie W. Mitchell, who preceded his wife in death on July 21, 1989.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and a member of Soul’s Harbor Church.
She departed this life on October 8, 2006 at the Hardin County Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by 6 daughters, Katie Porter Wardlow, Johnnie Faye Austin, Mary Baker, Joyce Franks and Linda Higgins, all of Savannah, Tennessee and Martha Inman of Nashville, Tennessee.
One son, Moses Mitchell of Savannah, Tennessee.
14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren
One sister, Deloris West of Tupelo, Mississippi
4 brothers, Dewey Petigo of Mississippi, Connie Petigo of Illinois, T. J. Petigo of Arkansas and James Andrew Petigo of Mississippi.
Other than her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mitchell was also preceded in death by 4 grandchildren, Michael Mitchell, Stacy Hubbard, Stanley Hubbard and Regina Inman, 2 great-grandchildren, Tim Porter and Baby Bonee, 2 sisters, Lucille Davis and Lavenia Duncan and 6 brothers, Ruble, James Reuben, Kenneth, Derrell, Andy and Billy Petigo.
