RUBY WHITMAN HORN

Henderson, TN: Ruble Elizabeth Whitman White Horn age 95 passed away May 18, 2019 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 3, 1923 in the Montezuma - Silerton Community, the daughter of the late Nathaniel Edward and Maude Mosier Whitman. She attended school at Phillips School. She married Neil Cornelius White. They made their home at Henderson. Mr. White died July 4, 1967. She later married Jimmy Cornelius Horn and they made their home in Henderson. Mrs. Horn was a stay at home mother and grandmother. She loved wrestling, particularly watching her grandson Kevin. She enjoyed gardening and watching the little boy’s ballgames. She was a Baptist in belief.

Mrs. Horn is survived by two sons, Garry White (Sarah) and Kenneth White (Kelly) all of Henderson; four daughters, JoAnn Hopper (David), Barbara Parchman both of Henderson, Carolyn Alexander (Ralph) and Patricia Dickson (Donald) all of Reagan; seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren and one sister, Betty Ricketts of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s, Neil Cornelius White and Jimmy Cornelius Horn, one son, Jimmy Neil White, five brothers, Floyd Whitman, J.D. Whitman, Herbert Whitman, Cleatus Whitman and S.L. Whitman and two sisters, Myrtle Whitman and Gladys Frye.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jonathan Cooksey and Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday.
