Ruby Ella Shelly McKeown

Mrs. Ruby Ella Shelly McKeown passed from this life on Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Hardeman County and was a lifelong resident of Middleton, TN until two years ago when she moved in to the Robinwood Retirement Community in Bartlett. She celebrated her 95th birthday last month. She was a member of Middleton Church of Christ and was retired as a psychiatric aid with Western Mental Health Institute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie B. and Mae Yopp Shelly; a sister, Charlene Weaver, her husband of 62 years, Roy McKeown, and a son, Joe McKeown. Survivors include a son, Lynn McKeown (Judy) of Arlington; three grandchildren, Kim McKeown White (Doug) of Middleton, Dr. Jason, McKeown (Tiffany) of Collierville, and Jill McKeown Evans (Charlie) of LaVergne; six great grandchildren, Ben and Olivia Evans, Adelaide, Lucy, Julianne and Maebry McKeown; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Davis and Shirley Foshee, both of Southaven, MS; a brother, Arnold Shelly (Lucille) of Paris, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests memorial donations in Mrs. McKeown's name be made to the Rogers Springs Cemetery Fund.
