Ruby Jane Duckworth

Ruby Jane Duckworth , 79, of Apollo Beach, Florida, formerly of Wayne County, was born March 28, 1937 in Wayne County, TN the daughter of the late William Loyd and Coral Clayton Dixon. Mrs. Duckworth departed this life on October 12, 2016 in Florida. She was married to Melburn Duckworth June 25, 1955 and he preceded her in death September 6, 2007. She was retired from Genesco and was a member at Green River Baptist Church..

She is survived by a son, Randy Duckworth of Apollo Beach, FL; a brother, Oscar (Sonny) Dixon of Noblesville, IN; four sisters, Betty Ruth Andrews of Waynesboro, TN, Billie Jean Kimbrell of Noblesville, IN, Mary Tom Frakes of Loretto, TN, and Sue Martin of Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Leigh Stigall and Betsy Pittinger, and a great grandchild, Jacob Thomas Pittinger.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Duckworth was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Stigall and a grandchild, Lee Piepenbring.

Services will be held on October 16, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro. Burial following in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:30 AM until service time at 1:30 PM.
