Roy Raines was born March 28, 1920 in Stantonville, TN the son of the late Charlie and Virgle Boshart Raines.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Walker, who preceded him in death on February 3, 1985. He later married Esther Rainey, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2010.
Mr. Raines was a farmer and cattleman. He also worked for the Lexington Stockyard in Lexington, Tennessee. His hobbies centered around his work, mending fences, mowing pastures, and tending his cattle. He was a member of the Stantonville Methodist Church.
Mr. Raines departed this life on January 9, 2012 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 22 Days. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Judy Raines of Stantonville, TN; two grandchildren, Ginger Johnson and husband Terry of Stantonville, TN and Chris Raines and wife Katharine of Trenton, TN; four great-grandchildren: Emilie Johnson, Walker Johnson, Will Raines, and Aidan Raines; a sister-in-law, Betty Jones Milford and husband Billy of Stantonville, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and spouses, Mr. Raines was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Raines; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Archie Raines and wife Iva, Harry Raines and wife Emma, and Charles Clay Raines, Jr.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Clovis Howard and husband Doc.
