Roy Eugene Jones

Roy Eugene Jones departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 6 Months, 24 Days. He was born December 14, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Cornelius Eugene and Opal Aileen Cole Jones. He married Emma Frances Irwin on May 22, 1954 and was a retired assistant plant mangager with Lincoln Brass Works, member of the Waynesboro Mason Lodge # 127, Clinton Chapter # 9-Royal Arch Masons of Tennessee, Jackson Council # 13 CRYPTIC Masons, Jackson Commandry # 13 Knights Templar, Volunteer Trail Riders Club and served in the United States Army and Army National Guard.

Survivors, his wife, Emma Frances Irwin Jones, brothers, Robert, Jerry, Randall and Brent Jones, sisters, Betty Jones Melson, Margaret Jones and Debbie Lineberry all of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by step-mother, Marie West Jones, brothers, James Frank, Irvin, Jackie and Charlie Jones and sisters, Margie Maples, Clara Jones Floyd and Joyce Jones.

Services will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 8, 2017, 6:00-9:00 pm and Sunday, July 9, 2017, 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallabearers will be Gene Maples, Rob Floyd, Jeff Jones, Kyle Tones, Toby Lineberry, Bart Jones and honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Devers, Alex Jones, Jaxon Jones, Teresa Melson.
