Roy Wallace Barclay was born July 15, 1935 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late William Wallace Barclay and Gladys Valdora Talley Barclay.
Roy attended schools in the Rose Creek and Byrd Locke communities. At the age of 15, he started cutting timber. He worked for the pipeline for 18 years, retired from timber cutting in the late 90's, and also worked in bridge construction. He enjoyed antique cars, fishing and working in his garden.
Mr. Barclay departed this life on April 18, 2019 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 9 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Barclay-Tilley and husband Raymond of Bethel Springs, TN; a granddaughter, Kylee Barclay of Bethel Springs, TN; step grandson, Phoenix Tilley of Bethel Springs, TN; brother-in-law, Norman Ferguson of Leapwood, TN; a sister, Rachel Marlow and husband Robert of Masseyville, TN; special nieces, Reda Chastain, Jeanne Cannon both of Vonore, TN; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and special neighbors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Barclay was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Joe Barclay, William J. Barclay; three sisters, Peggy Sue Barclay, Shirley (Barclay) Ferguson and an infant sister; two faithful companions, Grundgy and Fatso.
