Roxie Gobbell

Roxie Nutt Gobbell was born June 25, 1907 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of the late W. C. (Bill) and Sallie Brewer Nutt. She was united in marriage to Hobert Gobbell on September 12, 1926. Mr. Gobbell preceded her in death on October 31, 1983.
Mrs. Gobbell was a homemaker and a member of the Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee.
Mrs. Gobbell departed this life on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 101 Years, 17 Days.
She is survived by two daughters, Naomi Creecy and husband, Calvin of Waynesboro, TN, Effie Matney of Lawrenceburg, TN; a son, Revis Gobbell and wife, Ruth of Eads, TN; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 24 Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gobbell was preceded in death by a son, James Gobbell; a great-grandson, Kenneth Borngesser, Jr.; and a son-in-law, J. A. Matney.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, TN with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Jerry Matney, Curt Gobbell, Alvin Creecy, Randall Gobbell, Rayford Gobbell, and Herbert Brewer.
Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2008 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
