Services for Roxie Berry, age 89, of Cypress Inn, TN will be Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 1:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with Baron Ode Berry and John Allen Berry officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery, Cypress Inn, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. The visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2007 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, March 3, 2007 from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
She would have celebrated her 90th birthday on March 5, 2007, but died at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN on Thursday, March 1, 2007 after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Berry, a native of Wayne County, TN, was a homemaker and became a member of Scotts Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in 1933. She was a daughter of the late William Henry and Elsie Horton Berry, the wife of the late Ernest Berry, and the grandmother of the late Darlene Holt and Evan Holt.
Survivors, sons, Zeno Berry, Lawrenceburg, TN, Leo Berry, Collinwood, TN, Elzo Berry, Selmer, TN, John Allen and Gary Berry both of Cypress Inn, TN, James Mark Berry, Iron City, TN, daughters, Daffo Berry Holt and Peggy Berry Holt both of Collinwood, TN, Jennie Berry Whitten, Iron City, TN, sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother, James Berry, Collinwood, TN, sisters, Ada Stricklin, Waynesboro, TN, Annie Holt, Mable Cameron, and Willodean Fite all of Hohenwald, TN, several nieces and nephews.
