Ross Pickens

ROSS PICKENS



was born in Savannah, Tennessee on December 17, 1922 the son of the late Bid and Etta Mae Mitchell Pickens.



On August 11, 1945 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Ann Robertson, who survives.



Mr. Pickens was a retired Custodian for TVEC. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Pickens was a member of Graham United Methodist Church, where he was a church trustee and was the church song director. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World, the Hardin County Fair Association, the IBEW Union, the TVEC Nomination Committee and was a Voter Registration Officer. Mr. Pickens was also a former employee of Archie Gambell's Grocery, Robert Woods Motor, Parris Manufacturing and Brown Shoe Factory and he was a foreman for Bets Corporation. Mr. Pickens was also a farmer and a logger. He was a wonderful father, loving and devoted husband, steadfast Christian and provider of everyone in need.



Mr. Pickens departed this life on October 7, 2008 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 20 days.



Other than his wife, Shirley Ann of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one daughter, Brenda Ann Tedford of Savannah, Tennessee



2 sons, Jimmy Ross Pickens of Florence, Alabama and Donald Lee Pickens of Destin, Florida



11 grandchildren, Ben, Adam, Lorie, Sheri, Amy, Amber, David, Pam, Terrell, Mikey and Brian and 21 great-grandchildren



4 brothers, Hassell, J. C. and Lige Pickens, all of Savannah, Tennessee and Melvin Pickens of Hammond, Indiana.



Other than his parents, Mr. Pickens was also preceded in death by one son, Raymond Jerrolds, 2 grandchildren, Abbe Pickens and Charles Ray Jerrolds and one brother, Curtis Pickens.
