Rosie "Mamaw" Kelly was born on September 4, 1932 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charlie and Fannie Hurley Benson.
She was united in marriage to George Earl Kelly, Sr., who preceded his wife in death on September 9, 1996.
Mrs. Kelly worked for many years as a cook for the Cherry Truck Stop and she also spent time working as a motel keeper in Mooreville, Mississippi. "Mamaw" as she was affectionately called, loved everyone she met, but her grandbabies were everything to her.
Rosie "Mamaw" Kelly departed this life on January 31, 2022 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 27 days.
She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Childers of Florida; sister, Louise Kelly of Tupelo, Mississippi; grandchildren, Brandon Kelly and his wife Brittany of Savannah, Tennessee and Richard Taylor of Iuka, Mississippi; and great grandchildren, Diamond Williams, Madison Williams, Ethan Taylor, Walker Taylor, Austin Taylor, Brenden Taylor, Ashlynn Taylor, Ansley Taylor, Chase (Jace) Kelly, and Baylie Kelly.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosie was preceded in death by her son, George Earl Kelly, Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Durham, Charlene Jones, and Birdie Steakley; brothers, Roy Edward Benson and Albert Benson; granddaughter, Tashala Sha Kelly Taylor; and her sweet Boston Terrier, Sparky.
