Mrs. Rose Dean Greene, age 84 of Silerton, Tennessee, departed this life Monday morning, March 7, 2016 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation in Henderson, Tennessee.
Mrs. Greene was born in Hardeman County on Saturday, December 5, 1931 to the late Seth Wilson and Emma Lee Boshers. On Friday, December 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Mr. Junior Boyce Greene, who preceded her in death January 26, 1997.
Aside from living in California for 13 years, Mrs. Greene lived her entire life in the Hardeman County area. She worked as a Nurse's Aid for several years in California as well as at Bolivar General Hospital and Western Mental Health Institute before she became disabled in the late 1970s.
She was a member of Silerton Baptist Church and worked with the Silerton Volunteer Fire Department. Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing children's clothes, quilting, fishing and cooking. She loved working with flowers, and roses were her favorite. She liked to play pranks on her grandchildren, and above all, she enjoyed life and loved her family deeply.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her two daughters, Charlotte Lee Hollaway and husband James of Silerton, and Sharon Remona Dickey and husband Bobby Lee of Bethel Springs; her son, Boyce Dale Greene and wife Danielle of Jackson; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Frances Lou Hatch, Hattie Mae Walton, Lee Ella Hatch, Mattie Joyce Walton, and Julie Mae Ray; and a brother, Jay Gould Boshers.
