Rollie Holt

Rollie Samuel Holt, aged 89, of Cypress Inn, TN, passed away on January 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 13, 1935, in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late John Robert and Versie Butler Holt.

Rollie was united in marriage to Sarah Ellen Stults on February 14, 1957, a bond that lasted until she preceded him in death on March 24, 2006. Together, they shared countless memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew them.

A dedicated worker, Rollie's career at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company spanned many years until his well-deserved retirement. Following this chapter, he found joy and fulfillment as a cattle farmer, working the land he loved. In his leisure time, he cherished the simple pleasures of life, spending hours nurturing his cattle and reveling in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing in his younger years.

He is survived by his son, Samuel Robert Holt (Stephanie); daughters, Sandra Kay Mayes, and Rita Faye Stricklin (Kelvin), all of Cypress Inn, TN; brothers, John Holt Jr., and Joe Ed Holt; sister, Dolly Johnson; grandchildren, Lacy Holt, Jon Holt (Jana), and Alex Stricklin; and great grandchildren, Macklin Holt, and Maverick Holt.

In addition to his parents and wife, Rollie was preceded in death by his brothers, Ollie Holt, Harlie Holt, and Bennie Holt; and sister, Polly Parker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January, 16, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 12:00 pm at the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN with burial to follow.
