Mr. Roger Dell Wilbanks, age 70 of Pocahontas, passed away Monday evening, March 28, 2016 in Bolivar, TN.
Roger Dell Wilbanks was born Monday, August 6, 1945, to the late Percy Wilbanks and Natalie Stevens Wilbanks in Pocahontas, TN. He was married to Rebecca Hoyt Fuller on July 23, 1999. Serving in the US Army, Roger was a Drill Sergeant and spent a total of eight years, eight months and twenty five days serving his country. He was Minister at the United Pentecostal Church International, and established the Ashland(MS) Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, serving as pastor from 2005-2010. He also was a butcher at the Shop-Easy in Walnut, MS. He attended Community Pentecostal Church at Walnut. He was a graduate of Walnut High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was dedicated to his ministry, loved music, especially Elvis Presley. He also ran a recording studio and worked as a radio disc jockey. He lived his whole life in the Walnut/Middleton area.
Roger is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hoyt Fuller Wilbanks of Pocahontas, TN; two daughters, Sheila Dixon (Dale) and Debbie Doolen (John) of Pocahontas, TN; two sons, William and Durrell Wilbanks of Pocahontas, TN; four step-daughters, Angela Stain (Joey), Darlene Harris (Dathan), Mary McLeod (Darron), and Jo An Fuller; two step-sons, Buddy Fuller (Tammy) and John Fuller (Becky); twenty-six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Natalie Wilbanks, and also by two infant brothers.
