Services for Roger Dale (Rod) Overton, age 56, of Collinwood, TN, will be Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with John E. Banks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2006 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, TN.
He died at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN on Thursday, September 21, 2006.
Mr. Overton, a native of Wayne County, TN, had worked at Murray Ohio Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg, TN and was of the Baptist faith. He was a son of the late Iva Jane Scott Overton.
Survivors, wife, Sallie Jean Staggs Overton, son, James DeShawn Overton, father, James Willard Overton, all of Collinwood, TN, one grandchild, sister, Ellen Ayers, Iuka, MS, nieces and nephews.
