Roderick DeWitt Vincent

February 10, 1916 — December 15, 2006

Mr. Vincent died Friday morning at his home in Nashville. He was the son of the late James Franklin and Myra Elizabeth Newsome Vincent. A native of Whiteville, he has lived in Georgia and Tennessee. He married Margaret Avent on November 13, 1940.



Mr. Vincent was an air-craft radio technician with Delta Airlines. He retired in 1976 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Westview Baptist Church in Nashville where he served as a deacon and usher.



His survivors are his wife, Margaret A. Vincent of Nashville; two sons & their wives, Phillip G. and Bobbie Sue Vincent of Nashville and Jerry Donald and Marsha Ellen Vincent of New Port Richey, Fla.; three sisters, Elizabeth V. Herman, Billie Mae Snell and Iris V. Treibing, all of Memphis; a brother, Fred Vincent of Middleton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.



Mr. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Zenobia, Thelma, Vernell and an infant sister; two brothers, Lovell and Ledford.
