Robert Dewitt Stooksberry

March 21, 1924 — November 30, 2006

Services for Robert Dewitt Stooksberry, age 82, of Collinwood, TN will be Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with Glen Richardson and Richard Neal officiating. Burial with military rites will be in McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2006 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. He died at his home on Thursday, November 30, 2006 after an extended illness.



Mr. Stooksberry, a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, was retired from Genesco, was a member of McCall Community Church, was a United States Army veteran having served during WW II, and was a member of the American Legion.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Isaac and Mary Belle Davis Stooksberry, his first wife, Ruth Edwards Stooksberry, a brother, Samuel Davis Stooksberry, and a grandson, Jeremiah (Bubba) Richardson.



Survivors, his wife, Janice Mathis Stooksberry, Collinwood, TN, son, Robert Michael Stooksberry and wife, Mary Ellen of Martin, TN, daughters, Patricia Stooksberry Walker, Elizabeth Stooksberry Richardson and husband, Ricky, Cynthia Stooksberry Kephart and husband, Butch, all of Collinwood, TN, stepson, Wayne Gipson and wife, Bridget, Waynesboro, TN, step-daughters, Gwen Wilbanks and husband, Chris, Kim Sherrill and husband, Ricky, all of Collinwood, TN, brother, Walter Wade Stooksberry, Macon, GA, grandchildren, Eric, Patrick, Sarah Beth, and Emily Stooksberry, Shawn Richardson, Dana Kephart Simmons, Sayward Kephart, Shelley Vandiver Garrett, step-grandchildren, Cassidy, Cessaley, and Chandler Gipson, Jake and Shelby Wilbanks, Nick and Greg Sherrill, great-grandchildren, Marc Alex Oliver, Catherine Garrett, Brayden and Dyer Richardson, Felicity Simmons
