Robert John (Bob) Schaible

October 6, 1940 — July 12, 2022

Robert John (Bob) Schaible, age 81, of Adamsville, Tennessee, formerly of Hanover, Illinois, passed away quite unexpectedly at the hospital, with his devoted wife by his side, in Jackson, Tennessee on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. His departure from this earthly life could almost be described as peaceful, but we are quite certain that the last thing Bob most likely heard as he left to be with Jesus for all eternity was the voice of his wife asking him if he was listening to her.

Bob was born in Savanna, Illinois on October 6, 1940, the son of Ralph and Viola (Krug) Schaible. He attended Hanover High School and graduated with the Class of 1958. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961-1967 and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. On June 1, 1968, he married Ruby (Kay) Minton with whom he recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Adamsville where he served as an Elder, and we have no doubt that we will continue to hear many more stories about how he often helped and served others as a follower of Jesus. Before Bob retired, he worked as a truck driver recruiter for Vamac in Adamsville. Bob enjoyed all kinds of sports, he played fast pitch softball in his younger years, he was an avid golfer, and March Madness was his favorite time of year.

Bob was very loved and will be missed by his friends and family, but most especially his wife, Kay Schaible of Adamsville, Tennessee; his sons, Todd (Stephanie) Schaible of Lawton, Tennessee and Ryan Schaible of Christiansburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Schaible of Adamsville, Tennessee, Logan Schaible of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Colton Schaible of Finger, Tennessee, Tyler and Jordan Schaible, both of Christiansburg, Virginia; one brother, Don (Barb) Schaible of Hanover, Illinois; and one sister, Carole (Jack) Murphy of Blue Grass, Iowa. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Viola, and one sister Doris.

Bob had a very caring and kind heart and is well known for being a good friend, putting others first, never complaining, and for his gifts of service for which we are most sure that he has heard his Savior say,” Well done good and faithful servant.” A memorial service will be held for Bob at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, Adamsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to North West Haiti Missions (P.O. Box 284 Adamsville, Tennessee 38310) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Bob’s memory.

O send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill, and
to your dwelling. PSALM 43:3
