He was born in Chester County, and reared in the Woodville Community, the son of the late Clifford Clinton ‘Tip’ and Lue Violet Isbell Roland. He went to school at Woodville. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served in California at Mather Air Force Base during Korean War. He worked at Brown Shoe Company for a few years and was married to Dorothy Massey in 1962. They made their home in Masseyville and Montezuma. He worked at G. E. Corporation in Selmer in the paint department, 27 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.He loved going to the Dixie Youth Park and watching his grandsons and grand-daughters play baseball and softball.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Massey Roland; three daughters, Bonita Wooley (David), Regina King and Debbie Jett (David); five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a step-son, Gary Henson and a step daughter Faye Thompson all of Henderson; a brothers, W.T. Roland of Pinson and a sister, Bonnie Hooper of Hornsby.He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Roland and a sister Imogene Moore.
