Robert Benton Powell

Robert Benton (Bubber) Powell, 86, of Hickory Valley, died Saturday, April 8th, at the Jackson General Hospital. He was widower of Mabel Vincent Powell, who preceded him in death in 2004, after 63 years of marriage. He was born April 16, 1919, the son of the late John Robert Powell and Ruth Holmes Powell.
Mr. Powell was a former Hardeman County Road Commissioner, ginner, farmer and horseman. He was a member of the Hickory Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Hazel Powell Brumbelow of Clovis, NM; and a brother, Billy Powell of Hickory Valley.He was also preceded by a sister Kathryn Powell Allen and a brother, Gaylon H. Powell, Sr.
Services were 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Shackelford's Bolivar chapel with Keith Hayworth officiating. Interment was in the Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
