Robert Lee (Pop) Nard

Robert Lee (Pop) Nard, age 68 of Florence was born March 4, 1945 in Florence the son of the late Richard and Ruby Smith Nard. Mr. Nard died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at El Repose Nursing Facility in Florence. Mr. Nard, a disabled carpenter, was married to Polly Ann Pigg March 14, 1966.

He is survived by his wife Polly Ann Pigg Nard of Florence, two daughters, Tammy Nard Caperton and husband Roy Jr. of Florence, and Samantha Nard Kimbrell and husband Richie of St. Joseph, TN, four grandchildren, Mack Caperton, Skyler Caperton, Ryan Kimbrell, and Chase Kimbrell, two brothers, Kenneth Nard and Aaron Nard, three sisters, Judy Young, Kathy Stutts, and Clara West all of Florence, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nard was preceded in death by three brothers, J.C. Nard, W.D.Nard, and James Norred, and a sister, Mary Sue Nard.

Services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood with Gerald Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM and Tuesday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Roy M. Caperton Jr., Skyler Caperton, Ryan Kimbrell, Danny Stutts, Nathen Nard, and Roy Lee Atkinson, honorary pallbearers are Mack Caperton and Chase Kimbrell.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff at El Repose Nursing Home for all the care and love they have given him in his stay there.
