Robert McDaniel

Robert Earl McDaniel was born May 27, 1928 in Hardin County, TN the son of the late Hughy and Mary Clement McDaniel.

Robert was united in marriage to Jewel Harrison Crunk on June 2, 1946, who preceded him in death on, July 7, 1997.

Mr. McDaniel was a heavy equipment operator for the State of Tennessee. He also had worked for the Tom Bigbee Waterway and was owner/operator of the McDaniel Grocery Store. He was a member of Savannah Masonic Lodge 102, a past president of the Savannah Saddle Club , and a lifelong member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union.

Robert loved music and was a regular attendee at the Friday and Saturday night dances at DD Dance hall in Crump. Most all of his life he raised cattle and horses. His love for life was demonstrated by his quick wit, with which he loved to make people smile and laugh. Most of all, he loved his family and friends.

Mr. McDaniel departed this life on January 25, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 7 Months, 29 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Jan Sowder and husband Ricky of Counce, TN; a son, Donnie McDaniel and wife Phyllis of Savannah, TN; a sister, Mary Dale Bailey of Savannah, TN; four grandchildren, Jamie Sowder and wife Candy, Blake Sowder and wife Natalie, Chris McDaniel, Charles McDaniel and wife Meredith; nine great grandchildren,Judd McDaniel, Parker Sowder, Caleb Sowder, Jake Sowder, Travis Sowder, Mason Sowder, Jack McDaniel, Selby Ann McDaniel, Mary Charles (Charlie) McDaniel; and a special friend, Mary Jo Hughes of Savannah, TN.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Jewelette McDaniel; ; three brothers, Edward McDaniel, Cecil Morton, Atlas Morton; and a sister, Ann Bain.
