Robert Earl Jenkins



was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 7, 1929 the son of the late James Sanford and Willie Lee Sanders Jenkins.



On October 30, 1953 he was united in marriage to Cora Delores Glover, who preceded him in death on December 22, 1998.



Mr. Jenkins was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1951-1953. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean War. Mr. Jenkins retired as a Harbor Master for Pickwick Landing State Park. He was a member of the Shiloh-Pickwick Lions Club. Mr. Jenkins formerly attended Center Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved to walk, and watch Wheel of Fortune. He was a loving father and grandfather.



Mr. Jenkins departed this life on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Jackson Madison General Hospital, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, 23 days.



Mr. Jenkins is survived by a daughter: Glenda Mawdy and husband Phillip of Savannah, Tennessee; four sons: Eddie Jenkins and wife Beth, Johnny Jenkins and wife Marsha all of Jackson, Tennessee, David Jenkins and wife Tammy, Roger Jenkins and wife Teena all of Counce, Tennessee; a half-sister; Vada Templeton of Counce, Tennessee; two stepsisters: Judy Turpin and Sue Hendrix both of Rockwood, Tennessee; two stepbrothers: Neil Dickerson and Jim Dickerson both of Counce, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild.



In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother; Rachel Jenkins; a sister: Mary Arbell Parson; a brother: James William Jenkins; a stepsister: Bonnie Russel; a grandchild: Monica Jenkins.
