Mr. Robert Lee Holloway was born on September 6, 1922 in the Fellowship community in Hardin County. He was the son of the late Walter Lee and Lula Ann Hutton Holloway.
He was united in marriage to Irene Gibson on November 25, 1955.
Mr. Holloway served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. His employment during much of his early adulthood was in the sawmill industry. He also farmed, worked in a grocery store, drove a school bus, and worked with the Tennessee State Parks and TVA. He served as a policeman for a few years in the early ’60s for the town of Milledgeville. In 1987, he retired from working on a road maintenance crew with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Savannah Heights Church of Christ.
Mr. Holloway departed this life on October 17, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 11 days. He is survived by his wife, Irene Holloway, of Savannah; two sons: Daniel Holloway of Corinth, Mississippi, and Paul Holloway of Savannah; and three grandchildren: Caleb Holloway of Corinth, Savannah Hamilton of Anchorage, Alaska, and Benjamin Holloway of Corinth.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by three brothers: one who died in childbirth, Rual Holloway, and Joe Holloway; and by four sisters: Ollie Lou Holloway, Ruie Reddin, Mae Reddin, and Maurine Keeling.
