Robert Dale Dixon

Robert Dale Dixon of Iron City, TN was born March 30, 1947 in Lawrenceburg, TN, the son of the late Clemeth Isaac and Thelma Mae Sharpe Dixon. He was united in marriage to the former Linda L. Hannah on February 25, 1966.

Mr. Dixon was a retired Signal Engineer Supervisor with Union Switch and Signal Railroad and was a member of the Fairview Freewill Baptist Church in Iron City, Tennessee. He was a member of Stainless Lodge #580 Mason and served 6 years in the Tennessee National Guard.

Mr. Dixon departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama at the age of 73 Years, 10 Months, 28 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Hannah Dixon and a daughter, Paula Dixon Borden both of Iron City, TN; 1 grandson, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Ruth Mitchell and brothers, Virgil and Delbert Dixon.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Luke Calton, Greg Stults and Bobby Glen Rich officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

Visitation will be from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.

Stainless Lodge #580 Mason will serve as pallbearers.
