R.L. Holmes

R L Holmes was born April 12, 1929 in Purdy, TN. The son of the late Roy Lee Holmes and Mary Lee Roberts Holmes.

He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Young on June 4, 1949. Mrs. Holmes preceded him in death on June 16, 2007.

R.L. Was truly a "Jack of all trades"! By the age of 12 he had built some bicycles out of random parts he had picked up and traded those for his first car! The rest is history, and what an exciting history it was.

Mr. Holmes departed this life on December 2, 2022 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 7 Months, 20 Days.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Darlene Null (Fulton) and Joy Daphene Gray (Howard Spurlock); grandchildren: Stacey Null, Tim Null (Amy), Keesha Gray York, Josh Gray (Tiffany), Lynzie Palacio (Albert); great grandchildren: Tucker Gray, Garrett Null, Jacob York, Heisman Gray, Amelia Palacio.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Keith Gray; sisters, Dorothy Hendrix and Mary Frances Garner; and a brother, Billy Holmes.
