Michie, TN: Ricky Neal Young, age 65, passed away May 31, 2022 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS.
He was born February 25, 1957 in Selmer, TN, the son of the late Dorothy Jean Hutcherson-Black. He was raised by his grandparents in Finger, TN, and was a graduate of Chester County High School.
He was a former employee of Simmons Lumber Company in Henderson, and then worked for about thirty-five years at National Installers based out of Houston, TX, retiring in 2021.
He enjoyed driving his tractors, riding four wheelers, watching western and nature movies, attending races held at local drag strips, and frequent trips to Whistlin Dixie and Molly Monday’s.
Mr. Young is survived by his four children, Kazz Young of Jackson, Gracyn Young of Jackson, Dusty Young (Emily) of Jackson, and Toby Young (Betty) of Henderson; a grandson, Jaxson Young; three sisters, Renee Wilson (Jeff) of Old Hickory, TN, Debbie Greer of Selmer, and Paula Rhoten (Keith) of Old Hickory, TN; an honorary son/grandson, Nash Dray of Medina, TN.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Mona Lisa Young.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 5th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue. Burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Sunday.
