Ricky A. Nelson

Ricky A. Nelson Sr. was born November 19, 1956 in Sarasota, Florida, the son of Norma Sue Turnbow Nelson of Ashland City, TN and the late George Arnold Nelson.



He was united in marriage to Shelia Jeanette Kelley on January 27, 1990.



Mr. Nelson was a truck driver and a member of the Kelley's Chapel Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He served six years in the Tennessee National Guard.



He departed this life on August 3, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 51 Years, 8 Months, 15 Days.



Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jeremy Gobble and Troy Gobble officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing.



In addition to his father, Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Arnold Nelson Jr. and Robby Allen Nelson.



Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Shelia Jeanette (Kelley) Nelson of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Lacy S. Nelson of Waynesboro, TN; step-daughter, Ingrid Jones of Hohenwald, TN; son, Christopher B. Nelson of Waynesboro, TN; stepson, Derek Jones of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Steven Nelson of Murray, KY; two sisters, Sherri (Nelson) Steele of Ashland City, TN, Shelia (Nelson) Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Carson, Tyler, and Andrew Nelson; three step-grandchildren, Ashley and Katelyn Musselwhite and Collin Jones; nieces and nephews.
