Ricky Cooksey
was born in Adamsville, Tennessee on July 4, 1953 the son of Mary Ann Henley Cooksey and the late James L.C. Cooksey.
On November 9, 1991 he was united in marriage to the former Diane Walker, who survives.
Mr. Cooksey retired from his job as inspector with Clayton Homes. He had also worked with the ASRM Project in Yellow Creek, Mississippi and as an Inspector with the state of Tennessee. He lived in the Pyburn community, but was raised in Adamsville, Tennessee.
Mr. Cooksey was a member of Soul’s Harbor Church and also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He departed this life on August 4, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 53 years and 1 month.
Mr. Cooksey is survived by his wife, Diane Walker Cooksey of Savannah;
a son, Brian Cooksey of Savannah; a daughter, Stephanie Cooksey Willoughby of Savannah; and a step-son, Donovan Briley; 9 grandchildren;
his mother, Mary Ann Cooksey of Adamsville; and a brother, Ronnie Cooksey of Jackson, Tennessee.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cooksey and a step-daughter, Marcia Gordon.
