Richard Lamar Smith

Richard Lamar Smith departed from this life Sept. 12.2023. He was 64 years old.

Born in January 6, 1959 in Corinth, MS. He spent most of his life in Selmer, TN. He briefly served in the U.S. Army before working as a printer prior to becoming disabled. He was a member of New Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Selmer and loved Fishing, Playing guitar, and REO Speedwagon. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Broise and Opal Dickey, paternal grandparents, L. T. Smith Sr. and Josie Smith, father L. T. Smith, and sister Joy SmIth. 

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Rachel (Matt) Barnacastle, Rebecca (Cory) Emily, and their mother, Lenora Smith, and a grandson, Kai Emily. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Ann Mclain, his sister, Susan (Stanley) Huggins, nieces Kristy Hathcock and Mica Rickman, and nephew, Anthony Tidwell. He also leaves behind many cousins, friends, and extended family. 

A private memorial service to be held at a later date.
