**In Loving Memory of Richard Gary "Randy" Scott Jr.**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Gary “Randy” Scott Jr., age 61, of Athens, AL, who left us on March 5, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1963, in Nashville, TN, Randy was the cherished son of Linda Woods Connelly and the late Richard Garry Scott.

Randy was well-known for his warm spirit and kind nature. Throughout his working life, he worked at Western Sizzler and Walmart, where he was admired for his commitment and friendly demeanor.

A devoted member of the Flatrock Church of Christ, Randy held his faith close to his heart, drawing strength and joy from his relationship with God, Jesus, and his church family.

An avid lover of sports, Randy had a special place in his heart for Alabama teams, Roll Tide. He also found happiness in moments spent at the beach in Panama City, Florida. His laughter echoed in many gatherings, celebrating the joys of good food and the company of loved ones. Above all, Randy was a genuinely kind soul. He had an innate ability to put others first, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. His compassion for animals and his nurturing spirit touched the lives of those around him.

Randy's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, church family and all who were fortunate to know him. We take comfort in celebrating a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering faith. May he rest in peace, knowing he made a difference in the lives of so many.

He is survived by his brother, Josh Connelly of Lyles, TN; sisters, Linda Bentley (Butch) of Athens, AL, and Amanda Connelly of Columbia, TN; mother, Linda Connelly (Ray) of Columbia, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Clura Haddock Scott, and Hassell and Myrtle Marie Woods; and great grandparents, Henry and Cora Lee Marshall Haddock.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with David Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the Napier Cemetery.
