Richard Jaye Reid

Richard Jaye Reid was born April 14, 1964 in Birmingham, AL, the son of the late Travis General Reid and Lois Irene Putman Melton. He was united in marriage to Donna Hendren on June 20, 1986. He was a man with many talents from acting in various plays held by the Arts of McNairy to playing almost any instrument he could get his hands on. Over the years he played many different instruments in several different community bands. Richard served the Lord in his 32 year ministry throughout Central to North Alabama and East to West Tennessee. Currently, he was serving at Court Avenue Cumberland Church in Selmer, TN. He also did missionary work in Colombia and taught English class at Gadsden State Community College. He was a man of true character who loved singing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Donna Reid of Selmer, TN; his children: Blake Reid of Marietta, GA, Jacob Reid and wife Ashley of Kingsport, TN, Hailey Reid of Selmer, TN; a grandchild, Landon Seals; a brother, Roger Reid and wife Becky of Lewisburg, TN; a sister, Sherrlyn Frost and husband Greg of Birmingham, AL.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his stepdad, Howard Melton.
