Richard N. Ray was born February 20, 1947 in Bethel Springs, TN, the son of the late Romas and Christine Russom Ray.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He did two tours in Vietnam, retired after 20 years of service, and was a Purple Heart recipient. After retirement, he worked in civil service for 20 years. After his first wife, Lois A. Ray passed away in Missouri on June 13, 2004, Richard moved to Tennessee where he met his second wife Myrtle Marie Kiser. They were united in marriage on November 21, 2005. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a Baptist.
Mr. Ray is survived by his wife Myrtle Marie Kiser Ray of Bethel Springs, TN; his children: Richard A. Ray, Raymond M. Ray and Shannon C. Ray and husband Terry Maynard; stepchildren: Crystal Henry, Brian Henry and Clay Henry; his siblings, Russell A. Ray (Viola), Roy Roger Ray (Jane) and Janice K. Chester (Robby); grandchildren: Jeremy R. Maynard, Christopher J. Maynard, Joseph M. Maynard, Jazmyn E. Ray-Maynard, Blaine A. Ray, Corey D. Ray, Chandra Jorewicz, Ashley N. Ray and Wyatt D. Ray; step grandsons: Cody Dickey, Blaine Henry, Tyler Henry and Connor Henry; step granddaghters, Brianna Winters, Mary Hannah Henry; great grandchildren, Trinidy R. Fox, William N. Black, and Mason A. Maynard.
